Irvine BMW Helps Miocean Meet Their 2010 Goals
December 6th, 2010
Irvine BMW is proud to continue its support of Miocean in Orange County in its efforts to restore our coastline through knowledge, change and commitment.
Currently, urban run-off pollution is recognized as one of the greatest issues affecting the health of our coastlines, but together we can help Miocean make a change in our coastlines. Through education and becoming active leaders in our community, we can preserve our oceans.
In 2010, Miocean saw significant grants from sponsors like Irvine BMW, which allowed them to accomplish many of their goals, while continuing to educate the public.
Through hard work and commitment, Miocean and its sponsors helped thousands of local children learn about urban runoff and watershed issues. Their continued dedication and funds raised by sponsors have positively affected the millions of gallons of polluted runoff that are no longer impacting Orange County's shoreline.
“We’re proud to have been part of this significant change,” said Irvine BMW’s General Manager, Steve Rudkin. “Our goal is to embrace local charities that make an impact in our community, just like Miocean does. We look forward to partnering up with them in other collaborations for 2011.”

"We feel very honored that we had the opportunity in helping raise funds for such an important organization," said Steve Rudkin, General Manager for Irvine BMW/Irvine MINI.
More than 400 guests attended the Blue 42 Celebration, vying for coveted auction items, including a 2010 MINI Cooper, donated by Irvine MINI/Irvine BMW; customized surf and paddle boards created by surf artisans Ron House and Drew Brophy; an opportunity to walk the red carpet during a Hollywood movie premier; and a rare Color Fusion painting by artist and philanthropist Dick Marconi.
