Summer often feels like it was invented for BMW convertibles. The brightness, happy energy and warm temperatures set the perfect scene for weekend excursions to the beach or to a vacation rental in a nearby city. Nothing matches the luxury, capability and open-air ecstasy of cruising warm, sun-drenched Irvine streets in your very own Roadster. Here's a brief look at what's on offer in the Irvine BMW inventory.

The BMW Convertible and Roadster Fleet

The BMW convertible and Roadster fleet is seven vehicles strong. They are the:

  • 4 Series
  • 8 Series
  • M4
  • M8
  • Z4 Roadster

Depending on the convertible or Roadster, there may be all-wheel drive options or rear-wheel drive options. Some BMW convertibles offer both powertrain options. Following, we highlight each model's capable engine.

BMW 4 Series Convertible

Choose between two S Drive rear-wheel options:

  • 430i Convertible, 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline four-cylinder
  • M440i Convertible, 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder
  • BMW 8 Series Convertible

Sleek and strong, the 8 Series is BMW's flagship convertible. It's available in both S Drive and X Drive, the all-wheel drive option:

  • 840i sDrive Convertible 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder
  • 840i xDrive Convertible, 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder
  • M850i xDrive Convertible, 4.4-liter TwinPower Turbo V-8
  • BMW M4 Series Convertible

This convertible comes in one rear-wheel drive model, the M4 convertible. It has the same torquey, high-horsepower inline six-cylinder as the 840i, except it boasts a retractable hard top for warm- and cold-weather driving.

    BMW M8 Competition Convertible

Built to smoke the competition on Irvine streets and beyond, the M8 has the aerodynamic silhouette and refined styling typical of a luxury sport convertible. Available in colors ranging from earthy to flashy, this is the ride that makes enthusiasts drool. A 4.4-liter TwinPower Turbo V-8 powers the M8. Although equipped with an all-wheel x-Drive system, the M8 also has two-wheel drive capability.

    The BMW Z4 Roadster

Introduced in 2002, the BMW Z4 Roadster series dates back to 1989. It continues to evolve, with two new sDrive options to help you zip around Irvine in style:

    • Z4 sDrive30i Roadster, 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline four-cylinder
    • Z4 M40i Roadster, 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder
